MEET THE DESIGNER
Mālō e lelei (Hello), and a warm welcome to you all! My name is Elayne Tukuafu and I am the creator and designer behind Talavou.
The concept for Talavou came about over a year ago after attending a wedding, and not being able to find the right accessories to go with my dress! How could I show I'm Tongan without saying I'm Tongan?
After alot of research, frustration, sleepless nights and many failed attempts I finally figured it out!
MY INSPIRATION
My inspiration behind Talavou transpired from two things; my Tongan heritage, and to commemorate my beautiful beloved mother ‘Enisela Tukuafu who hailed from Kolofo’ou, Tongatapu.
As a former cosmetics representative, she could walk into a room with a style and grace no one could ignore!
Her resilience, strength and ingenuity is at the forefront of everything I do, while sharing her legacy and the beauty of her homeland!
